Kentsel Mekanýn Deðiþimi ve Geliþme Döngüleri; Eski Keresteciler Çarþýsý (Ýzmir) Örneði

Kentler, kurulduklarý günden itibaren politik, coðrafi, beþerî, ekonomik deðiþkenlerin etkisiyle biçimlenen dinamik oluþumlardýr. Geliþen bilgi ve teknolojinin saðladýðý imkanlarla, modern üslup ve biçimlerde þekillenen tasarýmlarýn kentsel alanlarda görülmeye baþlamasý, kentlerin dinamik yapýsýna daha da hýz kazandýrmýþtýr. Ancak mevcut kentsel doku ve yapýlaþma biçimlerinden baðýmsýz olarak üretilen bu tasarýmlar sonucunda, kentsel çevrelerin özgün ögeleri kaybolmaya, yeni üretilen kent parçalarý aynýlaþmaya ve standartlaþmaya baþlamýþtýr. Buna raðmen insan ve doðal çevrenin etkileþiminden meydana gelen kentler, farklý toplumsal ihtiyaçlar ve bu ihtiyaçlarýn gerektirdiði mekânsal organizasyonlar sonucunda farklýlaþmaktadýr. Kentsel mekânýn biçimlenmesinde en önemli deðiþken olan kullanýcýnýn, sahip olduðu deðerleri kentsel dokuya aktarmasý ve özgün ögeler kazandýrmasý ise tarihsel bir sürecin sonucudur. Bu baðlamda kent dokusunun hangi süreçlerden geçerek farklýlaþtýðý ve bu süreçlerin nasýl bir çözümleme ile ortaya koyulacaðý sorusu ortaya çýkmaktadýr. Kentsel karakterin tanýmý ve tarihselliði üzerine teorik ve metodolojik bir çerçeve sunmayý amaçlayan bu çalýþmada, kentsel mekânýn deðiþimi tartýþýlacaktýr. Çalýþmanýn yöntem bölümünde kentsel mekânýn deðiþim süreçlerini analiz etmeyi saðlayan kentsel morfoloji bilimi ve Conzen tarafýndan geliþtirilen “geliþme döngüleri” ele alýnacaktýr. Þehirlerde farklý dönemlere ait özgün deðerlerin görüldüðü ve tarihsel bir sürecin ürünü olan en önemli alanlar olan tarihi kent merkezleri, araþtýrmanýn teorik çerçevesi açýsýndan önemlidir. Eski Keresteciler Çarþýsý (Ýzmir) örnek alanýnda gerçekleþtirilen bu çalýþmanýn, benzer alanlarda yürütülecek araþtýrmalar için yol gösterici olmasý amaçlanmaktadýr.

Change of Urben Space and Redevelopment Cycle; Eski Keresteciler Carsisi (Izmir) Case Study

Cities are dynamic formations that have been formed by the effects of political, geographical, human and economic variables. The appearance of designs shaped by the developing information and technology in modern styles and forms in urban areas has accelerated the dynamic structure of cities even more. However, as a result of these designs which are produced independently of the existing urban forms, the original elements of the urban environments have started to disappear. Nevertheless, cities, which are formed by the interaction between human and natural environment, differ as a result of different social needs and the spatial organizations. The user transfers his/her values to the space and gains original elements in historical process. In this context, the question of which processes the urban fabric differs through and how these processes will be presented emerges. In this study, which aims to present a theoretical and methodological framework on the definition and historicity of urban character, the change of urban space will be discussed. In the methodology section of the research, urban morphology which enables to analyze the formation processes of urban space, and the "redevelopment cycle" developed by Conzen will be discussed. Historic city centers, which are the most important areas where unique values of different periods are observed in cities and the products of a historical process, are important in terms of the theoretical framework of the research. This study, which is carried out in Eski Keresteciler Çarþýsý (Izmir), is intended to be a guide for researchers in similar studies.
