Kentsel ve Kýrsal Arasýnda: Ýl Ýlan Ediliþinin 25. Yýlýnda Osmaniye’de Sosyal, Mekânsal ve Ekonomik Yapýnýn Deðerlendirilmes

Türkiye kentlerinin geliþim sürecinde ve kýr-kent iliþkileri baðlamýnda çeþitli ve çok sayýda mekânsal, ekonomik, toplumsal ve ekonomik belirleyici yapý bulunmaktadýr. Ancak bu belirleyiciler politik süreçler ile iliþkilendirildiðinde çeliþkiler yaratmaktadýr. Bu çalýþmanýn amacý; politik yönü aðýr basarak alýnmýþ bir idari kararýn, sonraki süreçte, kentleþmenin mekânsal, sosyal ve ekonomik açýdan etkilerini araþtýrmaktýr. 1996 yýlýnda idari statüsündeki deðiþimle birlikte Ýl ilan edilen Osmaniye, aradan geçen 25 yýllýk sürecin ardýndan ilk defa bu baðlamda incelenmiþtir. Kentin sosyal, ekonomik ve mekânsal yapýlarýndaki dönüþümler ve güncel durum; eleþtirel bir perspektiften deðerlendirilerek ortaya konulmuþtur. Araþtýrmada, nicel ve nitel veriler bir arada incelenmiþ ve karma yöntemli bir araþtýrma yöntemi benimsenmiþtir. Sayýsal ve mekânsal veriler, anket uygulamasý sonuçlarý, uzman görüþleri, yerinde yapýlan katýlýmcý gözlemler ve kent deneyimi; çalýþmanýn veri kaynaklarýný oluþturmuþtur. Araþtýrma bulgularýna dayanarak, Osmaniye’nin çok yönlü olarak arada kalmýþ bir kentleþme deneyimine sahip olduðu ortaya konmaktadýr. Bu temel iddia, sonuç bölümünde tartýþmaya açýlarak Osmaniye'deki kentleþmenin geleceðine yönelik öneriler geliþtirilmiþtir.

In-Between Urban and Rural: Evaluation of Social, Spatial and Economic Structure of Osmaniye on the 25th anniversary of the Provincial Status

There are various spatial, economic, social and ecological determinant structures in the development process of Turkish urban settlements and its urban-rural relations. However, all determinant factors in these structures create contradictions due to affiliation with the political processes. The study aims to investigate how a strong political decision affected the spatial, social and economic structure of the city. In this context, the last 25 years of Osmaniye is investigated for the first time after its administrative change in 1996. The current situation and the social, economic and spatial transformations of the city are studied from a critical perspective. In the study, a mixed methodological research is conducted with quantitative and qualitative data. The data consists of statistics, spatial data, survey results, expert interviews and on-site observations. Based on the research findings, it is revealed that the city of Osmaniye has a multi-faceted urbanization experience "in limbo". This main argument is discussed in the conclusion and enhanced with recommendations.
